A period of drenching rain threatened to pre-empt the Waterfront Performing Arts Series at Christopher Columbus Park on Tuesday, August 16th. However, Mother Nature worked her magic and extended beautiful rays of sunshine right on cue for the event. This series presented by the Mayor's Office of Arts, Tourism and Special events features a wide array of talented artists from the area. This week featured Chu Ling Dance, a show that encompassed a stunning array of performers that portrayed traditional Chinese, modern, and martial arts dance, beginning with the rhythmic sounds of the Boston Chinese Drum and Dulcimer Ensemble. An original dance piece choreographed by Chu Ling was accompanied by a single trumpet player creating an emotionally charged finale against the backdrop of a magnificently painted sky.
