I want to thank those who have supported me through my journey. In a world that passes us by at warp speed, having them share more than a few moments of time and insight on this special project is priceless!
Philosphy If we stop for just a moment, elements of life that may have escaped our view find a place in our consciousness and develop new meaning. Each puzzle piece has a connection, creating the mosaic of our lives. Through photography, I strive to preserve moments with a sense of style that exhibits thoughtful reflection, curiosity, and spontaneity that originates from a position of grace and humility.
The Journey As someone who savors the memories of her youth in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, I adore my life in the North End of Boston. While living in New Hampshire, the seeds of passion for photography were planted through working at a weekly newspaper in Salem. It was at the newspaper that I found my way into the mysterious and magical realm of the darkroom. A course I took in black and white photography at St. Anselm College further fed my fascination. However, because youth brings its unique brand of sensory overload, the lure of a singing career derailed the prospect of photography taking root at that point in my life.
I have had a successful career track, most recently as Director of Marketing for a healthcare planning and design firm in Boston. While in that role, I had the opportunity to orchestrate professional photography assignments. The challenge was to transform a healthcare setting into a work of art, balancing the technical aspects of medicine with its healing environment. The logistics alone are not an easy task when the priority is the well-being of patients. It was through this work that the passion I once had for photography was aroused from its slumber; a re-awakening to bountiful moments.
Destination Transformation Since its founding in 2007, Measured in Moments has become an advocate of distinctive organizations whose mission is to provide guidance that infuses a sense of purpose and instills hope for a brighter future. A portion of all proceeds from contracted services and print sales are donated to a charity selected by its patrons at the close of each journey they undertake to preserve moments that define their lives.
